End of Year Round Up
Well, what a year it’s been! When I took on the role of chairperson at the AGM in November 2019, I didn’t expect that a few months later we would have a pandemic to contend with!
It was disappointing to cancel our three main events this year, the Cambrian Mountains Tour, the Mewla Rally and then the Powys Lanes Rally, but I hope that those of you who have worked tirelessly to organise them over the years were able to make the most of the break.
It was also very sad during the spring, when we lost John Probert, Alvine Stuart and Tommy Powell, who had each been a part of the club for many years. We will ensure that the club organises a suitable commemoration when we can do so safely.
On a positive note, it has been reassuring that we have kept the club going, albeit in a different way, and I hope that some of the events we’ve organised have helped you to get through these strange times.
The break from the norm has also given us the chance to work behind the scenes on the club’s communications plan, social media engagement and membership renewal pack, which will help us to get going again when we can.
Thank you to everyone who has helped in any way, especially everyone who has worked behind the scenes, made the effort to go virtual and has supported our Covid friendly autotests.
🎅Finally, I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! 🎄
Let’s hope for a more normal 2021 and I look forward to hopefully seeing you all then.
