The 2023 Navscatter Championship rounds

Welcome to the 2023 Old Forge Garage Mewla! This years event will take the same format as 2022, with 10 stages providing 44 stage miles.

The one-day format with no recce allows for early scrutineering, or scrutineer Saturday for a relaxed weekend in the beautiful Mid-Wales.

OS Maps Needed:  146

    1. All competitors must be members of Epynt Motor Club Ltd.

    2. All competitors must hold a valid Motorsport UK RS Clubman or higher-grade competition licence. A Motorsport UK RS Clubman Competition Licence is free of charge and can be applied for online at motorsportuk.org.

    3. Parents or guardians of competitors under 18 years of age are required to sign on at the start to enable their child to participate.

    4. Navigators must be at least twelve years old to compete.

    5. There are two classes – expert and novice.

    6. If a driver or navigator is a novice on the first round, he or she will remain in the novice class for the year.

    7. When a competitor wins the novice championship, they must compete in the expert class the following year.

    8. Only two people are allowed in competing cars.

    9. Spotlights must not be fitted on competing vehicles.

    10. All vehicles must be fitted with an effective silencing system.

    11. A driver or navigator who organises an event will get ten points.

    12. Awards will be presented on every round to the first novice crew and first expert crew.

    13. A competitor may count his or her best four scores for the championship.

    14. Championship awards for winning drivers and navigators will be presented at the Epynt Motor Club Annual Dinner and Awards Presentation.

    1. Organisers must allow novice crews extra plotting time.

    2. Organisers may use white unsurfaced roads only if they are smooth.

    3. Any unsurfaced roads used or roads not on OS maps must be shown by a detailed diagram.

    4. Try to arrange a start venue with a separate room for plotting and a finish venue that can supply food.

    5. Contact the Navscatter Coordinator, Brian Jones, for a list of black spots and the permit number for your event.

    6. Event information must be sent to David Powell at the MSUK Competitions Authorisation Office at least six weeks before your event, including the supplementary regulations, a coloured map showing all clue locations, permit number and organisers contact details. Post to Competition Authorisation Office, Motorsport UK, Bicester Motion, OX27 8FY, or email cao@motorsportuk.org.

    7. Inform other motor clubs if the event is taking place in their area.

    8. PR around the start and finish venue and any clues which are within 500 meters of any household.

    9. Contact Dyfed-Powys Police with full details of your event, email Stephen Cross stephecross@dyfed-powys.police.uk.

    10. If required, contact the WAMC Epynt Liaison Officer with details of your event, email Chris Phillips phillips@gmail.com.

    11. Email the results and a report to media@epyntmc.co.uk.
